Took yesterday off, was going to run but didn't feel it, plus I knew the boys would be up early since we had overnight company (I was right) and I didn't want my wife to have to get up to deal with them, since she's been working long hours lately. Felt good this morning despite going to a wedding last night, just good carbo-loading I guess, nice to see some extended family I haven't seen in a few years (even though they live just 45 minutes away, shame on me).
Kept it steady-state this morning, just pushed a bit through some of the tough hills of South Chagrin. Chilly with a light drizzle, feels like October. I guess fall is here.
Now to coach two soccer games this afternoon, should be good training for when I have to do so right after the marathon in two weeks as well.


Busy weekend with a super solid run thrown in for fun! Coaching after your marathon should be interesting! And cake IS graet carb loading!

Nice job on the last long one. Smart and kind of you to take yesterday off to save your wife from any hassle with the kiddos. We were at a wedding last night too-Bertram Inn. I thought of you as we drove by Wild Water Kingdom!

The put up the signs that state that the Towpath will be closed on Oct 7 already. I saw them put them up yesterday morning when I finished my run. Now you should officially be on your taper and I am expecting you will have your 3 x 1600m this week. The time sure goes go fast and I can't believe that is almost here already.

Good last one, hope these two weeks will go quickly but sanely too. I always think about your last marathon when you went off and coached soccer after your win. Honestly, I still think that's more impressive than the actual marathon. I'm worthless for 6 hours. :)
