So now in addition to the usual leg and core routines, plus heel-drops, plus cannonball, I've added some balance drills picked up at PT yesterday. Also having some custom orthotics made this week, for use when I'm not running. Learned a few things, will share more in a later post.
Hit the stationary bike last night as well - liking the workout it gives the hamstring and glutes, so I really do need to make that part of the routine going forward.
Also, posted some must-read links for March on the blog, going to try to do this every month - http://wp.me/pVkjc-rR

Oh no! The O word!! Those minimalists are really going to be screaming at you now :)

I started enjoying the bike too. It always amazed me how quickly an hour went sitting in my basement!

Hope this new addition is what gets you back on the road. Looking forward to hearing what the PT had to say.

I know @Salty, I'm torn, but preferred to at least get them to have them available - glad he is encouraging me not to run in them, at least.

Terrific read Greg, lots of great links! And hope the latest visit to the PT will help you out of this injury soon... always impressed to see how you keep at it with cross training but am still missing seeing you running :)

I really like the balance drills and also the balance poses in yoga. Will be curious to hear more of your thoughts on the orthotics. My PT has suggested it too and they're far cheaper than through a pod. But I hesitate...

I've learned the hard way to treat the orthotics as a kind of (very expensive!) crutch that will help you heal up but you don't want to become dependent on long term. So, don't avoid them if they are needed, but also do the foot and lower leg work so that you won't need them after you're healed. Good luck.

Thanks for the great links - there are several I've read and several more I look forward to reading! Great job keeping up with all workouts. Hope the orthotics aid in your healing as well!
