I kept watching for a report and then saw your Instagram so sorry your shoulder got bad again that totally sucks. You did the right thing by backing off but it doesn't make the disappointed any better. That isn't an easy marathon at all - hopefully you can run a flat fall marathon and you will be healed up and even stronger. You did the work so you know what it is all about so one more time through the cycle you should be able to break 4 hours. Like I did try to pull he positives out of this and learn

Thanks mike! It was so much more difficult than I expected. I also learned I'm not a small race person...felt like I was running by myself after the first mile and that made it even harder!

Yep small races are mentally difficult it's just you out there - I have run plenty of marathons by myself you have to play games with your brain to keep pushing through. Each one of these experiences makes us better so keep adding to your running database.
