Seriously think I should just put myself on bed rest for a month. I was limping again today, I have no idea why, I haven't run a step for almost an entire month, and haven't really run a... read more
No idea on distance - my lane was in the middle of a timed 1000 so I jumped in and didn't count laps.
Nice job.

The white part is where the fractures are. My new doctor at first, after reading the MRI report, said "These generally take about 6-8 weeks to heal." Then he looked at the actual pictur... read more
Anyhow -- he said I probably don't need crutches at this point (it hasn't hurt to walk or sit for a month now,) Cleared to swim, pool run, and even cycle if I'm not getting paypack pain.

Oh- I didn't see your earlier post that it was pelvic sfs. Such a bummer, but I know you are glad t have an actual diagnosis so you can make a healing plan. And of all the injuries, although they are are still crap, stress fractures are the best ones to have. Mend the bone and you are good. Hang in there!

Eh. According to the literature the doc gave me, they are 0% healed at 4 weeks, (so the time of the race... no wonder it hurt.), about 30% healed at 8 weeks (now), and by June, should between 50-70%. Judging by how it feels, I'd say it's right on track.

I need a good video of upper body/ core that doesn't put any weight on my pelvis... any suggestions?
Forgot my shoes. Now if I was able to run that would have been an issue, but the biking was not a problem!

AND THE DIAGNOSIS IS CONFIRMED -- Pelvic stress fractures. That's right, plural. No surgery. So happy.
No surgery, that's great!! What do you have to do to get the fractures to heal though?

Glad you got an answer and from everything you'd looked up as possibilities, I think this is probably best-case scenario.
