Second part of the brick--
I moved out having 2 min at the house to take off gear and put on new shirt - all was done in the garage and I also grabbed Ms. Scout.
My feet were totally asleep and my quads felt like they were going to give out any second, Like running down hill totally out of control of your muscles.
I am shocked at the pace as I felt like I was running in slow motion. Felt horrible.
I need to do more of these for sure if I am going to transition at the Tri! Thanks @Viet for informing me of how to do these!! I finished up around 920am when the heat was moving in... figured I need to get used to some of it since I might end up running in it some at the Tri in August.
Scout was a happy girl and pushed her mom! Now drinking my recovery drink and gotta catch up on you all!!!! Happy Thursday!!!

Great job today! You are going to rock the tri!
Care to share the wisdom from Viet?

Great job!! Not a bad time at all given the ride you just had! I'm sure you realize by now that you'll have no problems with the tri and that everything now is just going to improve your finish time!

Jessie, he just told me what to do- like the basic principle is to run as soon as you can off the bike- get the legs used to moving through the brick/jello feeling and about the miles to do.. I thought of running longer but he mentioned really only 2-3 for me. Helped.

Good to know -- I have thought about doing something like this recently. Maybe this weekend. I can take today off of running and just swim today. Then tomorrow when the Mrs. is doing her long run, I can bike then run....hmmm....tempting...

Newbie potential triathlete question -- do people just not wear padded shorts on the ride? As in -- do they get out of the water and jump right on their bike? I love my padded shorts....maybe I need to toughen up my bum.

I dont wear those padded shorts in practice.. I am getting a tri suit for the actual event. I investigated in the seats for my bike and I found a gel seat that i love and its small. Will have to go out and see what kind. The tri outfit you swim bike and run in. yeah um... lol.. toughin up that ass girl! :P

My bike seat is far from comfy without padded shorts. It is just the one that came with my bike -- and it's a men's bike. Maybe it's time for a seat upgrade.

I got my gel seat about 6 years ago! So I am sure they have really nice ones out there now!

Nice transition time, very quick! I can't help but laugh that you felt your legs were going to give. This is what I'm talking about :) It definitely gets easier the more you practice this - well done :)

I really admire Triathletes. I’m mulling over the idea of a sprint distance Tri next year. Right now the only place I run after a ride is to the refrigerator. Keep up the good work!
