    Felt a little bit sore afterwards. Jumping rope is tough.

      It is tough jumping rope!

      Thanks for the words of caution. I can't take it much easier. Haven't done one mile (haven't even done one foot) in over a week. Back to PT tomorrow and see what they say.

      I have been told that 5 minutes of jumping rope is equal to 30 minutes of speed walking. I have to tell you it is tough and I recommend it as a cross training.

      There is a company that makes a jump rope without the rope--so can be done anywhere without worrying about tripping, ceilings. etc.
      Even though it's suppose to be great, I'd be concern about the impact on ankles, knees, and hips.

  4. Did 6 miles outside today in the sun. Being outside makes a big difference. It felt great. I also came inside for 5 minutes of jumping rope and 15 minutes of weights.

    What a change outside from yesterday. It was nice to get out today and jog for over an hour. Came home and worked with jumping rope and weights. Didn't bake once this week!

  6. Great cross training with ice skating, along with 5 minutes of jump rope. Finished it off with bicep curls using homemade chocolate chip cookies. Feeling very satisfied!

    I did 30 minutes and thought I would go crazy. Larry, u r an inspiration with the treadmill. Just got back from aerobics. Em, glad you are feeling better and working out.

      I am just seeing if this works...how did you run if you keep sending snow and cold our way. Judee did 30 minutes on the treadmill. I, however, chose to stay indoors. Will walk tomorrow for about 2.5 miles as weather gets somewhat warmer.

      Thanks Gail. It was horrible. This is how desparate that Andrea and I are that we joined the Y today, just to do the treadmill to get in our LSD for our marathon training. Every step was painful. And, I am dealing with bursitis in my right hip. I couldn't walk very well the last 3 miles.

  8. Snow day. Had to revamp workout because of all the snow and ice. Great cross training today with ice skating and snow shoveling--the old way of resistance training.
