A bit far today, could probably have done with a 2:50 run but I'd decided to run to the in-laws and that's just how long it took.
I was supposed to have a complete rest day yesterday but I was at a conference and ended up doing 3 practical sessions. My hamstrings and glutes were tight right from the start so I knew it would take it's toll.
The route was really hilly and although I went through the first 13.1 miles in 1:33 about a mile later I could really feel my legs tightening up even more which is not something I've had on my long runs before.
I didn't actually get any cramping but the last couple of miles were pretty tough - more evidence that I should have opted for a 2:50 today!
Rehydration and refuelling went well but my NorthFace bladder sprung a leak so I had to take water bottles instead. Much more inconvenient having having to take the pack off every time I wanted a drink.
I'm on a recovery week next week so I'll be dropping back down to an hour's run again so hopefully that'll give my legs a chance to rest. I won't be going any longer than 3:15 on my program but I've got 3 more long ones to go before I start pulling it back for the race.
