I'm new to running completely. No idea about pacing, about proper stride, or anything.

I sorta just run at what feels like a comfortable pace/gait, and try to land non-heel first. Guess that's a start!

Great post! I've missed most of your recent stuff. True story on the weight loss and easier running-awesome results! As to the posting: I put my non-mileage efforts with my mileage efforts in the dialog box. If I do two mileage w/o's I post them separately-that way I can go back and look at my logs and figure the cardio stuff out. How bike friendly is Japan (where you are)?

Extremely bike friendly! Just no bikes here yet! Sold most of mine before I came, but the opportunities are here if I just have the equipment. Maybe in the spring!

I guess if I do anything extra than my morning yoga/stretches, pushups, etc I'll post those up. I can mentally and physically feel if I slack off, so don't need the website telling me to pick it up! :)

Good job on the yoga today. I found a yoga dvd that is looking good-but I have to learn the routines. It's hard to lie on the floor and see the screen to figure out what they are describing! Nice work on the push up challenge!

I used to go running in Tokyo but would get a raw throat from the air pollution. Are you scoping out places to get in some cardio or are the l-o-n-g walks going to be your focus?

I'm hoping to get into running while I don't have a bike. The Pollution in Nagoya isn't nearly as bad from what I am seeing so far.

I will go nuts w/o a bike eventually, but my wife is expressing interest in getting back into running to so perhaps we can motivate each other to get in a half hour - hour every day.
