  1. I need a costume idea for a Halloween 5K. Maybe I should just let my boys pick out one of those overpriced pieces of crap from the party store.

The North Park one? I'm debating pushing a little triceratops in that race, but I wish I knew if it was the flat course or a hilly one.
You should definitely find a costume with a skirt!

      Hi Kelly,
I hope you come - maybe I'll run into you. I can't imagine pushing a stroller.
I've run two races at North Park; the 5K had a killer hill. I was in la la land for the 1/2 marathon (and my time was awful because of it) and I can't remember if there was a hill.
I don't know if I can pull off a 50's housewife as Emily suggested (I'm not very creative) even though the idea is cute. I'll let you know what I decide on in case you're there.

Pittsburgh hills are a killer. My pecs (? area near my armpits) are sore from Tae Kwon Do, so it was a challenge to pump up the hills. I loved looking at the trees - color therapy :). I will hav... read more

Good idea Denise, but I don't think it would work since it's our night out from the kids (I already suggested that we go to Tae Kwon Do class together and he thought that was funny). I think I need to stick to the plan of 1 glass of wine (and no tasting his a few times along the way), and not to even consider dessert.

Thanks for the ideas. Did okay with the food - not great though because I did terrible with the wine. I'm just going to tell myself it was one day and make myself get up tomorrow for a good workout. I wish I didn't like wine...

Jenny & Dana, the lake loop is exactly 5.0 miles if you don't cut by the tennis courts. I think you're right about the 4ish. Try the hill. There's a water fountain at the top I use as a reward. There are wooden markers every 1/4 mile starting at the boat house. I'm sorry you have to drive so far to get there. It takes me about 25 minutes to get there, too. And it's even prettier when it's full of water, ha!

Emily, this picture was taken by Nina's parents and we were looking for them, so of course we were so excited to actually see them. I whined through most of the course, so I only smiled for this picture and at the finish.
