First ride of spring! Hooray! It felt great to be back out on the bike and dust the cobwebs off. A nice, easy ride along the Highline...lots of pedestrians out today. Bring on tomorrow's 10 inches of snow! :-p

A beautiful day for a track workout! Today's torture (I mean workout): 3 x (800 strong, 200 jog, 200 hard, 400 recovery).

Like that workout! Very nice!

I always like to think that it's only torture if there is no goal at the end! Every workout is a part of the next race.

Gaye ran 4 miles in 38 mins alrightS. Platte Trail – 4 mi / 00:38 09:36 pace
It's a good thing the weather is so gorgeous today, because this was a HARD run for some reason. I got smoked by Liz and Erica, there was no keeping up with them...they were flying! Still, not a terrible pace considering a) it was pushing the stroller ... read more

nice work, somedays are tougher than others but you still did a great pace. I am always impressed you can do this pace pushing a stroller.

Whew look at you!! All that pace AND pushing a stroller you should be proud, sorry it felt so hard! :)

Quick swim before going in to work today. I hoped it might loosen up my seriously sore hips a little, but no such luck. Oh well.

Wow. My first ever truly hilly run, plus my first trail run, plus my first time doing the stairs at Red Rocks, all in one! We started from Green Mountain and ran up and over Dinosaur Ridge, around Red Rocks, up the stairs in the amphitheatre, back down... read more

Great pace for the hills. Incredible!

Ok, the verdict is in...calves are totally fine, but my HIPS are killing me! OW. And I even took an ice bath yesterday and foam rolled last night. Hoping a recovery swim at the Y helps loosen things up!

Gaye did a spinning workout for 1 hour goodFriday spin/pilates class – 01:00
Legs were tired, three days of running in a row, then spinning today after doing diddly squat for the past two weeks. Felt good, though!

Gaye ran 4 miles in 39 mins alrightDreadmill – 4 mi / 00:39 09:50 pace
Blech. Mind-numbing hamster wheeling, but I got it done. Bumped up to race pace during commercials to make it a little more interesting, but it didn't help much.

Way to at least tolerate that contraption!

I had to get off mine before I was done yesterday, because the wall was so lame to stare at!!!

I really don't think I could do it without the tv. Way too soul-sucking. I would have done more interval/speed work to try to spice it up, but I did a track workout on Wednesday, so didn't want to kill off my legs too much after barely running at all last week! :-)

So much for the weather forecast...sunny and beautiful for this morning's track workout, no snow in sight! Today's workout: 8x400 as a relay with a partner. Legs are still a little dead, but not too bad. Apparently I missed the 2 mile time trial last w... read more

Gaye ran 7.16 miles in 1 hour and 15 mins tiredCrappy aborted long run – 7.16 mi / 01:15 10:29 pace
Bah. Planned to run 14, but had no mojo, so I bailed out at 7. Not a terrible pace, though, considering how awful I felt and that there was some walking and one big-ass hill in there. I'm clearly not entirely over the plague yet.
-
Steer clear of the big ass hills! Good job putting in the miles you did while not feeling well. Are you running with Maureen yet?

You gotta listen to the body, good job doing it. A little rest won't kill your fitness, may just give you a nice little boost.
