  1. goodYMCA Track 3 mi / 00:30 10:07 pace

39 laps on the Y's 1/13 mile track. Prep for upcoming indoor Tri on the 20th.

    • Doug L. Doug L.

That is worse than my 200m indoor track.

Yeah. That's a LOT of turns. Nobody was there, so I could really focus on hitting the apex of the turns. Did as little "cornering" as I could. Wasn't too bad actually. Race day with more folks and faster running should be interesting.

Which Y?? I tend to go to the South City Y. And ugh, I hate running on their track. I did a 10 mile run on it in January and thought I was going to die!

Monroe County in IL between Columbia and Waterloo. As much as I hate the treadmill, I'm not sure I could do more than 3 miles on that track. 10 miles? Screw that! ;-)

  2. goodTrainer 14 mi / 01:00 14.0mph pace

Just an easy spin on the trainer. It was good to push past 45 minutes and do a full hour though.

  3. goodYMCA 1300 yd / 00:38

    WU 250, DS 6x25, BI 5x100, KS 6x25, CU 250

  4. good 10 mi / 01:40 10:01 pace

Decent long run. Picked a hilly route today. Also, trying to get used to only running 3 days a week.

Great miles today, Gary! Especially on the hills!

Maybe someday the bike will be comfortable. Ugh.

  6. greatYMCA 1200 yd / 00:31

Huge day for me. 800 yards non-stop! Swim included 200 wu, 800, 200 cd. So excited about this swim.

  7. goodTrainer 11 mi / 00:45 14.7mph pace

Included 6x20 sec intervals. Not a fan of this workout. Intervals felt WAY to short.

  8. goodNegative Splits 4 mi / 00:34 08:32 pace

    Shot for 10,9,8,7 splits. 1 - 10:05, 2 - 9:01, 3 - 8:02, 4 - 7:00. NICE!!

Thanks. The other trick was that I managed to pull this of a night. So, it wasn't real easy to check my Garmin all the time.

  9. Picked up my very own copy of the Triathlete Magazine's Essential Week-by-Week Training Guide. Really like this book. Ahem... Dustan C. - you can have yours back now.

I would have shared it for longer no problem. Did you get a newer version? Get tired of reading around my notes? I'd bet you got it cheaper than mine...

I got in from Borders. I (naturally) couldn't wait and find a cheaper one. $20 is a steal though for that book. I think it's really good.

wish i had your stamina with swimming. I get so bored with it

    • Gary S. Gary S.

Ha. You used stamina and "me" in the same sentence regarding swimming. I've got a LOOOOOONG way to go to 1.2 miles.

Nice swim Gary - I'm definitely jealous. I only make it 150 meters and I'm ready to drop out...
