Nice sweet ride with kid today. We went hunting for the velvet mites on our regular trail route knowing its time for them to come out and we succeeded in finding 3 of them. 2 and a quarter actually :)

Yes last April! Almost 7 hours in the scorching sun! I still regret for not wearing full sleeves. Most of the tan has gone but there is still a noticeable amount of it left.

There were some showers throughout last week in the evenings but the temp didnt come down much. It was 40 today and in the traffic that is super hot.

TTT warmup and return 28 km
the return 22kms after the race was harder than the race. atleast it felt so since i didn't have anything left.

Its literally been 2 decades i have seen them. Thanks to my neighborhood, my kid can see them now. These rare, thought extinct bugs popularly called as Red Buchis by kids - Real name: Velvet Mites - Aarudra Purugu in Telugu.

@kedar, in the concrete jungle all we can fnd is cockroaches :) - i live in the outskirts of the city.
@Sanjay, they make sudden appearance after the rains start and the weather cools down. usually in places where there is grass and the soil is not sticky kind of.
