Day 63: Still feeling the achilles tendon soreness but it was definitely easier to manage which either means the rest did me good or i'm becoming numb to the pain. LOL! at least after nine weeks of running I'm still in good spirits.

Day 62: Right achilles tendon was still sore today but ultimately manageable. I put in an earlier run today so I can put in a later run tomorrow and hopefully get a few more hours of sleep and rest for my legs. No 2 ways around it, I am tired...physica... read more

How far are you going to go? Is 11 miles your stopping point as far as this training? You must be exhausted!

I am trying to go to 13 miles but will stop if I get in any danger. As far as feeling tired, honestly the hardest part is managing the day to day muscle soreness. Yesterday I was definitely tired but it was when I was first getting accustomed to the high mileage where I went through a period that I felt really sleepy all the time but it was mainly cause I wasn't eating enough.

  3. alrightCal Union Loop - 11 11.27 mi / 01:23 07:22 pace

Day 61: The hard tempo run of Wednesday combined with the pretty tough pace yesterday really took it's toll on todays run. Plus running the river walk trails, while very fun and challenging, is very punishing on the achilles tendons. I was feeling it p... read more

Day 60: I actually didn't mean to run this fast after yesterdays tempo run. I started out at what I felt like was an easy pace but, like I've been doing lately, sped up later down the road when I was further along in the run and still feeling good. I a... read more

Day 59: HOLY CRAP! THAT WAS A FREAKIN CRAZY TEMPO RUN! I made it to the 1/2 way point in 35 minutes feeling pretty good and on the way back I kept telling myself to go just a little bit faster. I would do the new speed for at least one song on my iPod ... read more

Day 57: Felt pretty good through out. I don't know, can't really remember much about this run. Sometimes it's just about putting in the miles.

  9. goodMom's BBQ - 11 11.58 mi / 01:23 07:09 pace

Day 56: Another split run - 4 to get to my parents house for a family BBQ and 7 to get back home (I took the long way). On the way back I think I didn't wait long enough for my food to digest so when I started out I felt like I had done 1000 crunches. ... read more

what was the break down of times/paces for the 4 and the 7?

    • Chris R. Chris R.

The first split was about exactly 4 and was 27:34 (6:55 I think) and I just paused the timer and started again to get the total time so if you wanna do the math your welcome to. the 2nd run was definitely slower pace cause of the digestion issues but like I said, I did pick it up when that subsided. i am really liking progression runs/fast finish. Makes me more confident in my ability to properly pace a race.
