  1. greatRiver Walk - 8 8.28 mi / 01:02 07:31 pace

Day 29: I made sort of a weird detour through river walk park because a street sweeper was chasing me on the bike path.

  2. greatGolden State Out and Back 8.05 mi / 00:60 07:25 pace

Day 28: I was surprised at how fresh I felt considering how many beers I had at Brian's wedding last night. Knock on wood I guess...

  3. greatCalloway Out and Back 8.44 mi / 01:05 07:43 pace

Day 27: Nice to sleep in a bit today. Ran by effort (minimal) and felt fantastic. I think I will be able to make it to 13.

  4. alrightNacho Loop - 8 8.26 mi / 01:04 07:43 pace

Day 26: 1st day of the 8's. Pretty tired this morning. Got sprinkled on a little bit too. I willing to bet the weather played a small part in my lousy mood this morning.

  5. This is from this run - http://www.dailymile.com/people/gafoo/entries/868655 - from last week. Hopefully not too boring. It was fun NoHo.

I watched till the end... had to turn away at times with all that bouncing around in your final sprint haha... where will you get your hill workouts in Bakersfield? Sad to see you go... let me know if/when you're ever back in town and we'll go running again.

definitely looks like an intense run... I'll have to remember this come fall, if I'm not running something else (CIM?) around then; thanks for the info David.

I really want to do CIM this year. If you haven't run your BQ by then we should both do it and run the 3:10 pace group together.

  6. goodBike Path - 7 7.24 mi / 00:53 07:22 pace

Day 25: Perfect way to finish the 7's - I caught one of those zen moments of running. It was only for about 3mins but it was bliss. Yay for running.

  7. goodA St. - 7 7.39 mi / 00:53 07:12 pace

Day 24: Last day of the 7's and also 1st day with the Frees. It was nice to run in these shoes. They're very lightweight and so far very springy though I think that is typical of new shoes (and especially when your old shoes have SO many miles on them)... read more

Maybe it's just me but I love the feeling of broken in shoes. They get more flexible and something... something I can't put my finger on .

  8. goodCoffee/Ming - 7 7.21 mi / 00:54 07:27 pace

Day 23: So cold out this morning. I am so not used to these foggy mornings.

  9. greatDeeDee Boy - 7 7.14 mi / 00:52 07:19 pace

Day 22: Burr. Pretty cold out this morning. Felt relaxed the entire way and even sprinted the last mile. I am getting better at finishing strong. Maybe I will eventually learn how to properly negative split a distance/race.

      The secret to negative splits:
Run easy on the first half, then kick it up on the second.

get a Garmin or stop being stupid. Think it would be easier to get a Garmin and continue being stupid. LOLZ

Hi Chris. There are some inexpensive Garmins on the market right now, particularly the 205. Check out www.amazon.com. I recently got one for $142. Take care.

  10. greatReal Rd - 7 7.1 mi / 00:54 07:38 pace

Day 21: So happy this run is done. Not that it was hard but because it marks my return to my "normal" mileage training. After 4 weeks, I am finally back to what feels right and my body is agreeing with me again. It is such a load off of my mi... read more

it's so hard to not push ourselves to the levels we want to be at when we're hurt, but obviously, the rest and recovery will make you stronger than before! Glad to hear you're hittin' your stride again.
