In an attempt to avoid the hills I did loops at a local park. Right hamstring was tight but not really painful.

I'd love it of we were invincible but alas we're not. About 4-5 months ago while running on a particularly hilly course I must have pulled my right hamstring. I co tongued to try and run but it hurt and I seemed to lack power in that leg which made running hills truly painful. I tried one session of deep tissue massage, rest and lots of foam roller but none of it resolved the problem. Finally decided I needed rest and am now trying a slow comeback.

Good going Scott, not everyday is a red letter day running. On those days just turn off the watch, hit cruise control, and get the recovery miles your body is asking you for. You'll be burning up the roads soon enough, why not put a nice base in this Winter.

I know, I feel the same way sometimes when I am out on my Desert Floor run at dusk with no lamp... wonder if the mountain lion is sniffing around... creeps me out and I start running faster because I don't want to be dinner. Don't you guys have bears out there?

If we do I don't know about them. Where I run is on a trail in an urban area so probably no bears - have seen lots of squirrels and a few deer. I do know what you mean about running faster as I do the same.
