First 12 miles were fine, just tired legs. Then I tripped and wrenched my back (no serious damage) and everything kind of went down hill from there. I just couldn't keep my feet going. I had plenty of water, although the water in my hydration pack was a warm soup by the time I finished. Warm water > no water. I couldn't stomach another goo, even though I probably should have. Doing the 6 yesterday probably didn't help the energy level of this run. Not sure if this is my last 20 miler seeing how its 3 weeks till race day.
Deer flies were intense, but I wore a bandana under my hat that covered my ears and back of my neck and they didn't bother me at all. I probably looked like an idiot, but better that than go insane from swarming insects.
