What an awesome solo run. Rained hard for 16.5 of those miles. Without the heat and humidty, I knocked over 50 minutes off of my 13 mile time from last weekend. Thats how slow I was last week. Or maybe it was Mindy R. and Rick F. slowing me down... ha! Seriously though, felt a lot stronger than last week.
This is a distance PR, even though it wasn't planned. I wasn't sure what I was going to run today. Funny thing about running these trails, miles add up quick. I was only going to run to where Aid Station 1 was, but that would only been maybe 10 miles round trip, so I wanted something a little longer. :)
Ran in my Kinvaras. Compared to last week in dry conditions with my other shoes, I could barely walk at the end of the 13 miles. This week, my feet were soaked for at least 10 miles and had zero issues in the Kinvaras today. I did slip once, but on most of the rocks and roots I didn't have a problem with traction.
The marathon can't get here soon enough!
Have a great Sat/Sun!

This is AWESOME!!!!! Dave, you're going to LOVE that marathon. I am so proud of you and all the serious training for such a big race. What a great goal to set (and you're totally doing it). Great post - WELL DONE!

@Rick - I tried but no parking, even though it a huge parking lot. It's blocked and has "you will be towed" signs outside the gate. So I started in the normal spot and ran to the starting line.

Super excellent long run on the trails, Dave! You're looking good for the race in July. I'm in awe that you can pull off that many miles in the RAIN and on the TRAILS! Just amazing! That's a huge confidence booster, too, I'm sure! Great job today. :)

Great trail work out there, despite the rain it was a better day to run than last week at the same time. Trails are all about getting muddy!

Great job Dave. The trails are awesome in the rain, and once you are wet, the rain doesn't matter much. In fact it is nicer than being in the baking sun and heat. You guys are putting me to shame this week, haven't been able to run much with work being so crazy. Glad you got some trail time!!

It was probably me slowing you down! :-) I just love to look around, and often forget to run, or just fall on some root or something!

Nice! So now you know what shoes to wear if it is raining on your marathon. This is a great distance to be doing this much ahead of the race! I'll be laughing the rest of the weekend about Mindy and Rick slowing you down, but you are doing fantastic.
