the burn in my legs was more of an itch, and it felt pretty good... rode with Nina, took a long lunch break in Chelsea for veggie chili and chai. she rode her 'cross bike (!!!) with knobby tires (!!!!!!) and had done two Crossfit workouts in a row (yesterday and today!!!!!!). DAMN. that girl has gotten *strong* and *fast* over the summer.

the forecast was for 65 and sunny, but it was more like high-50s and overcast. i opted for a long sleeve base layer, short sleeve jersey, and shorts... should have worn knee warmers, since my knees were tweaked out for the first 15 or so miles.

wicked headwinds on the way out kept us warm (having to push against them), and it was pretty chilly on the way back with a tail wind. it did boost our average speed, though, and we rode two-across on the way home (took equal-ish turns pulling on the way out).

overall, good! no... great! ;)
