Attempted a lower body workout and HIIT this morning, first time since getting severe sinusitis and eustachian tube dysfunction. Kept hoping the endorphins would kick in and make me feel better, but every step made my head pound worse than before. Th... read more

Thanks Melissa! I'm heading to the doctor tomorrow - she said if I started to feel crummy after my antibiotics ran out, to come back because there could be a secondary infection. Lovely!

10 laps - terribly slow, doggy paddle/breaststroke/freestyle/Michelle-style lol I'm still contemplating whether or not to do the triathlon in July - even though I have one under my belt, fear of swimming in open water is sinking in ...

Swimming is arguably the sport most people struggle with for triathlons. I won't even attempt it, although I put it on my goal list for this year. So I applaud you for getting in the water and even considering a tri. 36 laps of water jogging is impressive! I would love to try that. You had a great, fun workout all around.

I hate swimming in open water as well. I've already told the hubby and our friends that the only tri I'll do is Devil's Lake because of the fact that the water is so shallow; that way, if/when I start to freak out, I know I can stand up to rest.

Samantha, I did a sprint tri, so it was across Lake Andrea in Pleasant Prarire.

Ginesa - It was pretty freaky, but there were Swim Sisters in the lake with all the swimmers, plus lifeguards in kayaks and boats, and more lifeguards on floating buoys. I didn't realize how choppy the water would be with all the other swimmers, and it was my first open water swim - ever. I was SO HAPPY when I reached the other side! lol
