  1. RUN
    good Neighborhood Route 1 2.5 mi 00:23 09:17 pace

Although I ran, it still felt like a fat-guy shuffle. Burning off those July 4th burgers and beer may take a little more effort.....

  2. RUN
    good Neighborhood 1 Route 2.5 mi 00:23 09:11 pace

It's been a while since I last logged any kind of activity, so I figured I'd better start again. Felt good to run again. Time isn't close to what it used to be, but all journeys start, or restart w... read more

    good 3 mi 00:15:00 12.0mph pace

Nice leisurely pace to start the day. I miss the riding to work, but there is no way I'm going to do it when it's 2 degrees outside.

  4. FIT
great General Workout - Run, Lift, ... 00:40

First good workout of the year. Feeling pretty good.

  5. FIT
    blah Run / Ride / Lift 00:30

Under the weather, felt like crap but did the workout anyway. Down 4 pounds for the week.

  6. FIT
    good Run / Ride / Lift 00:30

Starting to get congested. Running on the treadmill didn't clear me up like I thought it might.

  7. FIT
    great Run / Ride / Lift 00:30

Good workout. Ran, rode the stationary, and did some lifting. Trying to drop the weight and tone back up so the TSA will have something decent to look at when I fly in a few weeks. Ha!

  8. FIT
    good Drop the weight 00:30

Decent workout. Felt good to run and ride again.

alright Ride Home - Commute 8 mi 00:40 12.0mph pace

Well, it looks like I tense up too much on hills and that's what hurt my back. Crap. Gotta find some flat routes for a while. Tons of head wind all the way home, which was some impromptu resistance... read more

Nice! Wabash is pretty flat, if you stay on the main train.

It's not always busy on the ride, I'd go during RAGBRAI week (that is if you aren't on RAGBRAI) and go early. I'm planning on doing quite a bit of long runs out there this fall.

I miss running. Since I started commuting via bike, I haven't had much time to run.

good Ride In - Commute 8 mi 00:31 15.5mph pace

Nice cool morning for a ride (54 degrees and clear skies). It's been a month since my back injury on the MS150, and my first measurable distance ride since. Time isn't what I wanted, but its a good... read more

Stretching at Mile 40 rest stop on the MS150. This was the beginning of the back issues, but it was a really fun ride. I'd do another one in a heartbeat, just probably not in Iowa.

    injured MS150 Day 1 75 mi 04:31 16.6mph pace

Started having lower back problems around mile 41, but pressed on to finish the day. Thought some stretching and a good night sleep would take care of the back issue, but I was wrong. Wasn't able t... read more

good Ride In - Commute 8 mi 00:34 14.1mph pace

Honestly, how can people who ride regularly not know this? A cyclist nearly took out a runner this past weekend at Lake Z. If he'd announced his presence, she'd have moved. Instead, I announced it for him right before he nearly hit her.

good Ride Home - Commute 8 mi 00:33 14.5mph pace

It's frickin' warm out, and I am going to go on record and say that the fact I live on top of a hill is getting really old. I can deal with the head winds, but head winds on a hill are a real a$$ k... read more

great Ride In - Commute 8 mi 00:31 15.5mph pace

Last week before my 1st MS150, thought I should work off whatever damage I did over the weekend. Not a bad ride, lots of runners out on the trail this morning. Great weather and a full moon must br... read more

Forgot I had to go to the kids' school registration, so I rode there after work before heading home. Luckily it is on the way, and surprisingly I was the only parent that biked to school. Ha!

Do you have seats on your handlebars for when you have to pick the kids up from school?

Nope, the wife drove to meet me with them. We only live a mile from school, and she works part time so she primarily picks them up :)

Not a bad ride. Wiped out on some river mud, messed up my ankle and handlebars pretty good at mile 9. Fixed the bike in no time, hope I can say the same about the ankle.
