Reminds me of the time I ran 20 with a guy who was training for a 50. It was the late 70's. That night I could not sleep a minute, tossed and turned for a long time. I got up, donned running gear and ran another 20.

Phew, after running with the hares on Tuesday nights, that one seems like a jog. But eight Yassos is a lot, no matter what. Way to finish strong.

My problem is that I despise speedwork. I'd rather run 20 miles than speed intervals. Maybe I just need to say it out loud. "my name is Mark, and I'm a jogger."

I've run a couple loops. It isn't so bad as a whole, but the last 6 miles of the loop are pretty brutal. The first 9 miles are mostly flat, but wind back and forth. The hills are in miles 9-15. You do two laps, so you can divide the event into 1/4s...level, hilly, level, hilly. It'll be fun to hit mile 25 dog tired and have that last tough 6 miles ahead of you.

a 50 K is easier if broken up into segments. warmup with a 5 K, then do a half marathon, then a 5 miler, and cool down with a 10 mile. Ok, I am crazy.
