alright Mad Dog 10k 6.2 mi 00:44 07:05 pace

Woke up this morning and just couldn't be arsed. Ah well, still went to run the race as I've never not finished anything I've ever started. Meet up with David S. Ben W. David T. at the start, all cool people (David T, love the accent)
We all set off together about a minute behind the gun, David S was with me for the first mile but lost Ben and David T. Pulled onto the path on the right for the first mile as no one was using it, but set off way to fast (5:53's daft) Pulled it straight back in when I saw this, then just kept with in myself for the next 4 K and let David S go. At the 5k mark locked onto a runner I know Trevor Jones and just let him pace me round as he was running the same pace as me.
On a side note I had caught Trevor at the half way point in this race last year, but he was having a really bad time of it, so just left him to it that year. But this year he was in much better shape so this gave me a new target to cut down.
Stayed on Trevor for the next click not letting him know I was there and letting him cut wind for me, could tell by his breathing he was near his limit as was I. This was going to be good as now we had a race. Toyed with the idea of letting him know I was there but as Ben W came along side me at 6.5k and asked how I was, the game was up! Ben W push on and Trevor tried too but couldn't shake me off, stayed behind him for the rest of the race as every good middle school miler knows you don't give up the pursuit position unless you have too! With 200m to going dropped the hammer and took him. 1 minute 30 seconds off my PR but I'll take it.
