Awesome, fast Christmas Eve run on one of my favorite routes, weaving around a bunch of lakes and lots of time on paved trails. My folks are in town and the weekend's off to a great start. Ran in my old NB 760s for the first time in a few months to see if they elped at all with the minor but chronic ankle pain I've had in my Mizuno WE4s. Ankles feel good. I think I need new shoes.
Oh: After reading this pretty weak NYT piece on GPS watches http://www.nytimes.com/2011/12/20/health/nutrition/gps-watches-may-not-track-runs-accurately.html and this much better researched rebuttal http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2011/12/why-new-york-times-gps-running-article.html , I put it to the test today. The GPS route came out about 2.5% shorter, I assume primarily due to tighter turns, more direct lines, etc although I haven't studied the maps carefully.
