RUN
alright Doing Penance 2 mi 00:22 10:46 pace
Marine layer morning -- cool, overcast, but not thick enough for nifty fog. The run itself wasn't much fun. It felt laboured, and after the first itty-bitty 2-mile loop I was glad to go in. ... read more

good Quads A-Quiver 4.21 mi 00:46 10:49 pace

great Jesusita Trail to Inspiration... 8.7 mi 02:27 16:53 pace
Jesusita is a quickie. It's just 1750 ft. up to some nice views, minimally technical at this time of year, runnable pretty much the whole way. Let's just say "quickie" describ... read more

good 12 x 200m 8.57 mi 01:33 10:49 pace
I think there were white cranes, probably the roar of surf. I'm sure the breeze was cooler, and the sun still strong and hot because fall is coming. Even in paradise, sometimes the mind goes... read more

DANG! I admire your fortitude. I'd probably just get pissed after a couple reps and run off towards the hills. :)

good 2 x 2M Tempo 8.14 mi 01:23 10:08 pace

Yup, we have pelicans nearby along the gulf-- they are entertaining to observe! Great tempo work with the long repeats, Elodie!

Those pelicans are entertaining critters. I enjoyed watching them from Stearns Wharf when I was there. Solid tempo work, job well done!

Elodie - welcome back to CA! As soon as I read "morning marine layer" I knew you were here. Funny, when we were in SB for a weekend this summer, we noticed how odd the sun relationship is to the ocean there - very confusing for a CA native. Great run this morning.

Good to see you back around. Is this a permanent move to CA or just a seasonal one like before?
8 months ago • Like

@Keith, neither. :) It's more than seasonal because I'll see all 2 seasons that SB has in a year, but not permanent. Originally, it was to be one academic year = 9mos. starting about now, but I got here early and will probably be leaving later.

Elodie
I agree on length of run, Elodie-- it takes me a couple of miles to warm up and often even longer to really get in a groove. This one sounds nice, and 1.4 miles of carefree running is worthy of celebration!
