good Lucky Eight for Chinese New Year-Valentine Day 7.36 mi 01:30 12:13 pace

Well, not quite 8. I ran for an hour and a half in random directions, thinking I'd get around 8 miles in. I should probably re-calibrate my estimates. I'm not sure why my miles aren't 10 minutes anymore. I don't feel slower. Anyway, not real worried. I like thinking about my runs by how long I'll be on my feet, rather than by mileage. It makes me less anxious about staying on my route, and lets me just go and explore the town or woods. I'm not really the type to want my runs to end, sooner the better. As long as I'm not pressed for time and nothing's hurting like heck, I'll want to keep running. I figure my goal is to be able to reach 4 or 5 hours of mostly straight running by Marathon Day. Maybe just 4 hours in training, saving the rest for the actual day. I'll worry about speed in the "off-season."
Oh, and I'm also exciting about the races picking back up again! I've got three straight weekends starting with next weekend's Pasadena Half Marathon. Then the Firecracker 10k in Chinatown (hills!)... maybe I'll even sign up for the Debs Park Hill challenge that same weekend. And after that, the Disney Princess Half Marathon in Florida (yes, getting on the AIR-O-PLANE this time).

I ran a lot of that route along Arroyo Blvd yesterday. Lovely spot to run. Nice mileage. :)

Thanks. I love the dirt trail next to the street and a great alternate to the lower dirt route and the bowl loop. Also, the homes up there are so IMPECCABLE and perfect, like little dollhouses. Not much traffic so I just run in the street itself (being careful of course!).
