This was totally last minute, but I really really really really wanted to do an outdoor run and this was far enough away from the fires.
I started this race pretty fast, but I steadily had to slow down though I put in a consistent effort. I kept wavering between wanting to get an impressive time (for me), and just using this as an easy run. I actually missed a workout this week, so it probably didn't do too much harm to put a little effort in here.
I may have been low on fuel, because as I was driving here I was starting to get really hungry and I actually didn't have my coffee. Afterward I grabbed a bowl of menudo, which turned out to be the canned kind, and a horchata that tasted so good it pretty much made my day, other than my PR. Actually, scratch that. In high school cross country my PR was around 23 minutes... but that was over ten years ago!

Good job!

Way to go Elizabeth! Congrats on your finish time on that 5K, that was my last 5K race time too in Central Park on 7/15. Keep up the great runs and you'll get your 23 PR back or better! =)
