tired Two in Light, Two in Dark (Sunday Long Run) 18 mi 03:58 13:13 pace

The goal was to run for four hours. This was the week for my 20-miler long run, but a combination of things made me revise it to a timed run instead.

1. I had run a 10K in the morning (this was run yesterday, on Sunday actually), which I guesstimated, based on level of tiredness, becomes about two hours worth of running after eating and resting a few hours. No real science to it.

2. And also I hadn't been on schedule with my training. I missed the 18 mile a couple weeks ago. I didn't feel that strong to really be ambitious today.

The reason I called this work out Two in Light and Tow in Dark, is because from 4pm-6pm there was still daylight, and then the two hours after that I had to run in the dark. I chose residential streets for the first two hours, and changed over to the commercial streets with lots of street lamps for the next two hours.

So I spent the first half of the run thinking about how I loved running and how free I felt. Then for the second half I started feeling tired forgot all of that. Then everytime I would stop at a light, I could feel my bones crying out about how SORE they were. I don't think I'd ever felt my bones get sore during the run. I had to breath somewhat loudly toward the end not because I was out of breath but because it helped me move forward. Sort of like the grunt breathing you hear at the gym? Guys do it? Well, I was doing it, but not real loudly or anything.

Once I got home I knew had to get stretching quick. I rolled around for bit on the floor like a whale for a bit. Small movements counted as stretching at this point. I think it was because I had run the second half in the cold maybe. I drank a Hammer Recoverite, which has glucosamine and other stuff. Trying it out. I guess it's working because the next day as I'm writing this I"m not even feeling that sore. Just a normal sore.

I think I also figured out the fueling situation, before and during. Oh, I tried Hammer's Heed energy drink, Chia seed drink (fresca!). Luna gummies, and a Honey Stinger Gel. Haha, I tried everything. Now I don't know which one was the one that actually worked, or if I have to do all of it again the same way next time!

Alright! So I guess I can do the marathon now. I just need to buff up a bit more. Better stay on the running for another couple of weeks. Next weekend is the Disney World half marathon in Florida!

Sorry about all the bad grammar. I am sneezing like crazy right now and feeling slow and dumb right now!

I've never run for two hours, let alone four. Way to get it done.
