  1. RUN
    good w1d2 00:20

Could do without the winds gusting to 34 mph, but hey, it's done.

  2. RUN
    great c25k, w1d1 00:20

I felt and thought all sorts of wildly happy things during the running portions of this workout... clearly my return to running was overdue.

  3. RUN
    good 5.07 mi 00:50 09:50 pace

On the indoor track at the gym. I had to coach myself through it but that's OK every now and then.

Thanks! I've been surprised at how the track doesn't seem to bother me. That was 38 laps last night. Once upon a time I would've thought I'd go insane... but now I kinda like it. I go late so that I finish at closing time, it's pretty quiet, and the same little group of people are always there. Last night I even ran without music which really surprised me! (I may not do that again because I could hear my knee pop with every step.)

  4. RUN
    great 8.02 mi 01:24 10:25 pace

Ran in my parents' neighborhood, down Crystal Creek, out to the soccer complex and back through "our" soccer fields, and then over to the elementary school to do about 6 laps on the ... read more

I used to stash on a 9 mile route I had, but it was more remote and I was pretty confident that no one was going to mess with my drink (I admit to putting a brand new unopened bottle so that I would know if anyone did anything to it - paranoid much?). I just cannot carry anything on me that bounces or sloshes, and the water sources were few and far between. Is it really necessary to have water with a gel or block, esp. in cold weather? They don't choke me or anything.

    So glad I went tonight.

  6. RUN
    good 3.33 mi 00:32 09:44 pace

Not the 4.5 I had kinda planned to do, but it's OK. At least I got back on the wagon, and I enjoyed it.

  7. RUN
    good 7.25 mi 01:15 10:19 pace

For some reason I was really dreading this run - the distance, that is. I don't know why exactly. It all turned out pretty well although my tummy is still hurting a few hours later. It shou... read more

  8. RUN
good gym track 4.53 mi 00:45 09:55 pace

Still kinda slow but at least I felt better overall.

  9. RUN
    alright 3.07 mi 00:31 10:09 pace

Felt tired, slow, and yucky. I'm sore from yesterday's run. All this is the result of not running last week, not sleeping enough, not enough water and too much caffeine. Tomorrow I pro... read more

  10. RUN
    good 4.53 mi 00:45 09:50 pace

Back on the training wagon, and it was a good run. Got home and Griffin was awake and screaming. Oh well, nobody ever promised this would be easy. He shared my post-run snack of yogurt and grape... read more

  12. RUN
    alright 3.09 mi 00:32 10:27 pace

Had a 5K race on the schedule for this weekend but that wasn't going to happen for various reasons. I had intended to run a fast 5K but just ended up running pretty easy. It was hot (80F), b... read more

  13. VELO
    good 17.66 mi 01:30 11.8mph pace

Rode north on the path from Duck with Chris. Staying on the path makes for a safe, but slower ride. Good to get out, though, and you can't beat riding at the beach.

  14. RUN
    good 4.04 mi 00:40 09:59 pace

It was hotter today and I was not well-hydrated, but I got through it and it wasn't as bad as it could've been.

  15. RUN
    great 2.08 mi 00:20 09:25 pace

I finally got to *run* an errand! Turns out it's .9 miles to the post office from our beach house. I had a couple things that needed to go in the mail so I turned it into a run. Yay! It&#x... read more

    good 4 mi 00:41 10:13 pace

I think it might have been just a little past 4 miles, but OK Garmin, whatever. This was my first run at the beach and my first run in a week. It was pretty doggone windy, so I'm glad I head... read more

  17. RUN
    good 6 mi 00:59 09:50 pace

  18. RUN
    good 4 mi 00:40 10:04 pace

A run to remember Griffin Patrick, Wendy, Rainey, Grace, Otis, and all the other babies who left us too soon.

  19. RUN
    good 2 mi 00:18 09:05 pace

This was a reasonably hard effort. I really want to break the 9 minute mark on these 2 mile runs. I will have to figure out what my pace per lap needs to be so I can push it next week.

  20. RUN
    good 4 mi 00:40 09:52 pace

A good run at the gym.
