nothing crazy-just flushing the junk out of my legs from earlier in the week. Moved my ride from yesterday after I ran out of time. Race tomorrow.

Rode part of the ride in the wooded area at the park. I really do miss mountain biking.

  3. goodNice day 6 mile interval run 6.06 mi / 01:01 10:00 pace

Good run. Honest effort. Going on 15 hours sleep last 3 nights. Had 16 oz of water but glad I decided to run 3 (2mile) loops instead of one big 6. I needed to hydrate along the way. My legs and lungs were burning a bit. I'm going to catch up on sleep t... read more

Thanks guys. Had a good 8 hours last night and hopefully the same tonight. Brendan-funny you say that, I was just listening to the extra mile yesterday as well. we'll definitely need to hoist a glass in celebration following our 6th marathon. (if you can wait an hour or so at the finish line!

K-The race I'm doing is the Leprechaun 5 miler in Madison. From what i hear it's a nice flat 5 miler. I plan to run it as a progressive-slow at first and end at exhaustion pace.

Well you never know what that time difference might be, if at all. Good luck with the 5 miler - flat is nice. I like flat.

I wore the only green thing I have-a pair of "Hind" running shorts on the elliptical so as not to get pinched by leprechauns. One stole some "gold" from our kitchen table last night.

Mental attitude had a lot to do with why I did not complete the last 4 miles of this run.

I wanted to do this run outside and I prepared the night before, laying out warm clothes. When I got up and drove my son to work at 8:30a, I realized how windy ... read more

Totally understand but still 9 miles on the treadmill is a lot. Good for you at least for trying. Imagine how you would have felt if you never tried. Enjoy the beautiful day we're supposed to have tomorrow.

Chris - you said it you'll have ups and downs. You got a good 9 miles in - that is worth something. Have a good race this coming weekend.

  9. goodTreadmill Run at the Y 6 mi / 01:02 10:20 pace

Treadmill run at the Y. Dunno why sometimes it's harder to run slower on a treadmill than faster outside. Once I got going I was okay.

It was raining heavy off and on, so I thought it best to stay inside today.

listened to "podrunner" and... read more

Nice job Chris. I wonder the same thing about speed on the mill. Feels easier for me to run about a minute faster outside. Maybe it's just a mental thing.

I do the "chunking" thing, too. It always helps me get through so long, or dragging runs.

I can never figure out the speed on a TM. It seems to me that the pace on a TM is not the same pace as running outside. Great job, Chris! :o)

I felt strong on this run. Gray 55 degrees. Wasn't hard at all. I wish I took more pleasure in it. It was a good workout.
