good South Hill Recreation Way 7.33 mi 01:00 08:12 pace

Day two of sight seeing in Ithaca. This time I ran along the South Hill Recreation Way, which is a rails-to-trails project. It was a steep climb up to the trailhead (no shortage of hills here), but once I got up there it was nearly flat. Just a gradual incline on the out and wheeeeeee on the way back! Absolutely gorgeous greenway they have here. The tree cover embraced the entire trail, and it was awesome hearing nothing but the birds and the hard-packed stone crunching under my feet. Happy Monday!

Love the Rails-to-Trails routes, the inclines are all gradual and most of them tree lined like this one. Nice way to start the week.

Fantastic! It's really beautiful there...lots of mini waterfalls in the spring when I visited, reminded me of the gully behind Dover Street (but a lot more beautiful!)

Wow...sounds fabulous Drew! Way to get in a good one, and 20+ degrees cooler than the am temps back home had to be nice!

Ithaca's beautiful, went there with my brother when he was considering Cornell. Nice job exploring, is there a Running Recon report in our future ;o)

The thought crossed my mind, Greg. Finding time will be the challenge, though.

It sure is nice, Steve. If I'm ever in the position to have both a winter and a summer home, this area might be a candidate for the latter.
