good FIBArk 10k Trail Race 6.56 mi 01:05 09:55 pace

On the way up to Crested Butte stopped over in Salida and spent the night. Ran the next morning in a trail 10k (it imeasured a little long) that was part of the FIBArk (First in Boating Arkansas) whitewater festival. In addition to kayaking, mountain biking and "river dog" events, they put on a triple crown over the weekend that consisted of this race, a 5k/10k road race and a "hill climb" where participants ran up and down Tenderfoot Mountain.

I went into this run planning to just have fun and stuck to it. What else is there to do when you normally train on flat terrain at 350'? It was a tough first 2 miles, but after that I was rewarded with twisting and rolling single track. Lots of fun! Had an official finish time of 1:05:16. Felt tired but good after.
