Set out on this 12-miler with high hopes, but knew pretty quickly it was going to be a struggle the entire way. Ran the first 7 at a good clip, but had to keep stopping to walk soon after, and finally walked the remaining 2 miles to home on very sore feet, hurting ankles, and a throbbing right knee. I'm just hoping I got all of these bad runs out of my system in time for next Sunday's half. Luckily, it's a nice flat course. Pretty discouraging though.

Way to hang tough and finish even with a walk! There's no shame in walking, especially after several hard fought running miles. Taper and rest this week and you'll be fine with your half!

Agree with Leo. Think about where you were before you started running, Dan! You're complaining about running 12 miles slow now :)
