Thursday at the Track 5.2 km 01:00 18:34 pace

Started off very tired, but this was a mental challenge as much as physical. Amazing that I did just over 5km before work, whereas a year ago this would have been no more than a dream! I have spent since December working with @uktricoach on my run and I feel strong and we see progress each time I hit the track. The next year will be a lot of fun, improving my strength and speed. Cannot wait.

Done as:
800m warm up
lunges (front, back, side)
400m easy
5 x 800m hard (done to keep heart rate at 170bpm; my times went from slow to very slow - haha!)

All smiles after this. London Triathlon will be hard, long and a big mental hurdle. But I can't wait to TRI it!

Good session - I hope to try running tonight / tomorrow but an easy 5km. When have you been advised to taper off do you have any bike sessions this weekend planned ?

I did an active taper before Blenheim and it did not work well for me... My legs need complete rest. I am stopping on Tuesday evening next week. So nothing Weds - Sat, race Sun. Maybe cycle commutes but nothing else.

This weekend I have a track set Saturday, hoping to cycle up there and back, and the Nokia Thames 2.25 mile Swim on Sunday. Crazy! But should all be fun! :-)
