good Tin Factory to Bellandur and back 27.15 km 01:41 10.1mph pace

No GGI this Sunday so we decided to do our own route to Bellandur via Windtunnel road and return via Outer Ring Road.

We hit Old Airport road via Jeevan Bheema Nagar at 7.30 am, our first water break. Post crossing the Windtunnel road, we rode quite some distance facing the sun until we reached the Bellandur lake. Two short camera breaks there.

The ride along the lake was quite pleasant. Hadnt thought we'd be able to do it within the first month of starting cycling.

Happened to go past two other cyclists on road bikes along the lake. Once we hit the Outer Ring Road, we were already on our journey back home. It was a long stretch, thankfully of good roads. We rode mostly on the service lanes; had to break at two spots where some flyover construction was under way. Noticed a couple of fellow riders on the Outer Ring road.

No matter how much speed you pick to get away from those tempos and buses, they eventually catch up with you and almost push you out to a corner deliberately. Had one such nasty, close brush at the bus stand near the hanging bridge U-turn (on the opposite side of the K.R.Puram station).

The pleasant weather and the generally empty roads make mornings very suitable for enjoying a ride. However, if you're passing a small, local colony, you need to be wary of unsuspecting people moving about casually on the roads in the morning. The toughest is when on a main road, you have to squeeze your way through an HTV approaching from behind on your right and pedestrians walking towards you on the left. Sometimes, its all so quick, you dont even get a chance to stop..you just somehow have to make your way without hurting anyone and without crashing yourself.
