Brick 1 swim: Total time spent in the pool, not actual swim time. I need a new battery for my watch.

  5. swim
    500 yd 00:10:00 35:11 pace

Good news is that after two years out of the game I remember how to swim. Bad news: I have a lot of work to do!

  6. RUN
Speed work on the treadmill 6.5 mi

I have no idea how long this took me. I went to the track and it started pouring and the lights weren't on again, so I sucked it up and drove to the gym. I didn't time myself and I kept h... read more

  7. New blog post: Week two of marathon training: my fears catch up with me... so I organize them:

  8. RUN
Perk trail - long run 6 mi 00:58 09:39 pace

  9. RUN
    Rest in Pieces 5k 3.1 mi 00:27 08:50 pace

    Hilly 5k... very hilly

  10. RUN
    Royersford 6 mi 01:01 10:09 pace

    Tempo run...

  11. RUN
good Rainy run 4 mi 00:42 10:32 pace

Was not feeling this run AT ALL - good thing it was an easy 75% effort run. It's going to take a bit for me to get used to running more than one day in a row.

You handled multiple runs before so will be fine. Are you back on the tri train again? Or any other races planned?

I never got off the tri train, but did move to the back of the car for a while. :) I took some time to put my life in order, and just started training for my first marathon. I'm doing the Austin Marathon in February. I have a full triathlon season planned, but no races until the end of April.

  12. Blog post: Marathon training begins:

  13. RUN
good Track - speed work 3.64 mi 00:27 07:32 pace

At the track ... in the dark. Was not expecting it to be so dark at the high school. Made for a slightly creepy run.

  14. RUN
    Some trail along 724 4.02 mi 00:39 09:42 pace

I wish I knew the name of the trail I was running... but it's nice and varies between gravel and paved. It was a pretty good run.

Except for the part about your separation (I'm sorry you have to go through this), your blog post made me laugh. "Don't judge." & "Heaven help me." You are too funny. But you've got some great goals and no doubt you will put in the work to accomplish them! It'll be fun watching your progress!

  16. Starting Oct. 1, I begin training for my very first marathon. During my last couple of runs I've had a lot of soreness in my calves (during the last 3-4 months, I've changed my gait), so ... read more

I use them during and after runs of 2.5 or more hours. Whether or not they make a lick of difference physically, I don't know. But mentally I feel like they're doing something and at a certain point in a long run, mental strength can be more important.

  17. RUN
    Riverfront Park/SRT 6.2 mi 00:58 09:19 pace

Fastest 10k to date. I'm happy about it. The cool weather made for a very pleasant run.

  18. VELO
    20 mi 01:12 16.7mph pace

Easy ride on a really beautiful Saturday morning

  19. VELO
    SRT 17.2 mi 01:02 16.6mph pace

It's been about a month since I've been on my bike and I could tell. Legs got tired pretty fast. Have some work to do to get back to form.

  20. RUN
Valley Forge Park 5.04 mi 00:51 10:11 pace

Felt like I was running uphill the entire time... probably because I was. I will admit to walking up some of the hills.
