@Meg I'm think I saw you at the expo, but I didn't know if it was you. I should've just asked Alyssa. I'm sure we're bound to run into each other (literally) sooner rather than later!

@Petite Speaking of "only on race day", a gate post ran into me during the race. Stupid ninja gate.

(Fine, it may have been my fault for not seeing it. But still!)

Thanks guys. I'm bib #20514 for all you stalkers. I'm not racing this one, but I will be trying to get my friend to PR / course PR. It'll be actually quite nice not to race a marathon for once!

Weird how two runs can feel so different, yet today's run had only a 2-sec difference from yesterday's.

  12. RUN
    10 mi 01:17 07:43 pace

Last year, I had a monopoly on 8-mile runs. This year, it's the 10-mile run. Ironically, I've run less mileage up to this point of the year.

  13. RUN

Just hit 1000 miles for the year. 'bout time.

  14. RUN
    Intermpo 10 mi 01:12 07:10 pace

I'm not sure if 3x2mi is considered intervals or tempos, so I dubbed them intermpos.

    6:41 , 6:50 (intermpo 1)
    7:59 (recovery),
    6:41, 6:48 (intermpo 2)

  15. RUN
Los Gatos Creek Trail 8 mi 01:06 08:11 pace

Just bought a pair of Kinvaras and tried them out. This is my first run in non-Newtons since 2010. Not bad, Saucony. Not bad. What is bad is my stupid ankle. And the 90ºF / 32ºC heat.

  16. RUN
    10 mi 01:18 07:45 pace

Ankle's been acting up a lot lately. Hmm... maybe I'm running too much. Or maybe I should stop running in these Newtons that have 1180 miles on them already.

    • Loreen C.
      Loreen C.

At $175 a pair (the priciest ones they have) that's less than 15 cents a mile! That's a pretty good deal, but I do think you need to take care of that ankle before it gets worse. I say spring for another pair and run your heart out!
