First run since SF Marathon (haha, I make it sound like it was a long time ago). Took it easy. Spent the entire time thinking of solutions to the bug in my code I just encountered. Yes, I'm th... read more

@Meg I'm think I saw you at the expo, but I didn't know if it was you. I should've just asked Alyssa. I'm sure we're bound to run into each other (literally) sooner rather than later!

Thanks everyone. It was a fun day. I wish SF Marathon could happen every month (though I'm not sure my wallet would appreciate it.)

  7. RUN

    Surprise surprise, another 10 miles.

40 miles done this week. I think I'm ready for the SF Marathon this weekend.

  8. RUN
    10 mi 01:17 07:39 pace

Weird how two runs can feel so different, yet today's run had only a 2-sec difference from yesterday's.

Some guy on the trails was tailing me for a couple miles. He kept trying to pass me, but my ego wouldn't let him. My legs probably wouldn't feel so ganky right now had I just slowed down.... read more

  12. RUN
    10 mi 01:17 07:43 pace

Last year, I had a monopoly on 8-mile runs. This year, it's the 10-mile run. Ironically, I've run less mileage up to this point of the year.

  13. RUN

Just hit 1000 miles for the year. 'bout time.

  14. RUN
    Intermpo 10 mi 01:12 07:10 pace

I'm not sure if 3x2mi is considered intervals or tempos, so I dubbed them intermpos.

  15. RUN
Los Gatos Creek Trail 8 mi 01:06 08:11 pace

Just bought a pair of Kinvaras and tried them out. This is my first run in non-Newtons since 2010. Not bad, Saucony. Not bad. What is bad is my stupid ankle. And the 90ºF / 32ºC heat.

  16. RUN
    10 mi 01:18 07:45 pace

Ankle's been acting up a lot lately. Hmm... maybe I'm running too much. Or maybe I should stop running in these Newtons that have 1180 miles on them already.

    • Loreen C.

At $175 a pair (the priciest ones they have) that's less than 15 cents a mile! That's a pretty good deal, but I do think you need to take care of that ankle before it gets worse. I say spring for another pair and run your heart out!

It might be the Newtons bro!
