Last long run before half one week from tomorrow. The pace was fine. The weather horrible. It was teaming rain and I was drenched but no excuse not to run. I felt decent until I got to mile 8 or so. My hamstrings were bothering me which really means sciatica. I also felt lousy yesterday and when I got up with nausea. I didn't eat much before my run and didn't do a GU. It may have all caught up with me. So my workouts this week will be easier. The hardest thing I will do is practice race pace on the track Tuesday but only 2-3 miles of this. My friends want to break 2 hours for the half. I do want to run with them but I don't think I can cut 4 minutes 20 seconds off my time. I would be happy just to do the same or better. I will start with them but if they go too fast or I can't keep up I am not staying with them. Last year they had the same goal and were slower then 2 hours but around 16 seconds faster then me. My one friend has a great finishing kick. I wear down by the last few miles and can kick it in for the last half mile or so but not much earlier.
