good Tempo intervals on the hills of the Millennium Trail 6.01 mi 01:01 10:08 pace

Tonight was just beautiful out and perfect running weather. I did 10 minutes warm up and two 15 minute tempo intervals with a 5 minute slow run in between. I think I was a bit on the fast side. There was a lot of up hill on the first one and a bit more down on the second but it ends up again. My legs were pretty tired in the end. When I do my half next weekend I plan on doing tempo pace and it will be flat so hopefully I can do this for 13.1 miles. I did it last year.

    My goal is to beat 2:04.20 which is what I ran in it last year. I always have a goal to do better but in the end I will do the best I can that day. How about your goal??

    That sounds like a very doable goal with all your training. I'm sure you'll do great! I've gone back and forth about having a time goal. Being that is is my first half, I've decided just trying to have fun and do my best that day is enough. I would like to beat 2:05 but will depend on how things go. I guess whatever I do it is a PR and then I can work on improving from there. I haven't worked on speed really so need to look at ways to incorporate that into my training on a routine basis going for forward.
