This is my last hard track workout before Shamrock Half. It is our second hardest workout of Speed Development and I hate that I can't do next weeks workout which is the hardest but I can't do it that close to a big race. Next week it will be all be easy running with a little practicing my HM pace on the track. Last night was usual mile warm and cool down with 1600x4 with 400 recovery at interval pace. I never did get to that pace. It is far faster then any 5K I have ever run and I got close the first two intervals and not as close the second two but the effort was there. It is weird when you run the last interval and it feels as hard as the first and it is around 25 seconds slower. I figure it is the effort that counts and I did the whole workout. Tonight will be an easy 6 and tomorrow more tempo intervals so this week isn't an easy one. I have to be careful with my half less then 2 weeks away. I so want to do as well as I did last year or better if possible. I really doubt I can break 2 hours but I can aim for under 2:04.20 which is my best HM time ever. Shamrock here I come!
