  3. alrightCCT 10 mi / 01:50 10:58 pace

Last long run before half one week from tomorrow. The pace was fine. The weather horrible. It was teaming rain and I was drenched but no excuse not to run. I felt decent until I got to mile 8 or so. My hamstrings were bothering me which really means sc... read more

  4. goodTempo intervals on the hills ... 6.01 mi / 01:01 10:08 pace

Tonight was just beautiful out and perfect running weather. I did 10 minutes warm up and two 15 minute tempo intervals with a 5 minute slow run in between. I think I was a bit on the fast side. There was a lot of up hill on the first one and a bit more... read more

My goal is to beat 2:04.20 which is what I ran in it last year. I always have a goal to do better but in the end I will do the best I can that day. How about your goal??

That sounds like a very doable goal with all your training. I'm sure you'll do great! I've gone back and forth about having a time goal. Being that is is my first half, I've decided just trying to have fun and do my best that day is enough. I would like to beat 2:05 but will depend on how things go. I guess whatever I do it is a PR and then I can work on improving from there. I haven't worked on speed really so need to look at ways to incorporate that into my training on a routine basis going for forward.

  5. goodMillennium Trail and mile on ... 6.36 mi / 01:11 11:09 pace

Took it nice and easy. This is not a flat run and I do a lot of the same route tomorrow. The weather was super. Too bad it will be rainy for the rest of the week. I run no matter what the weather but love weather like today.

The Millennium Trail is a paved trail that runs along a busy road. Tonight I run an out and back from a different starting spot but will do a repeat one of the big hills we did yesterday. This is our winter running spot but in the summer we move to the paved hiker biker trail that starts at Needwood and is part of the Rock Creek Trail. That is truly a beautiful place to run. It is all part my beloved Montgomery County Road Runners group runs that I coordinate on T/Th nights.

This is my last hard track workout before Shamrock Half. It is our second hardest workout of Speed Development and I hate that I can't do next weeks workout which is the hardest but I can't do it that close to a big race. Next week it will be all be ea... read more

  8. goodCCT 14 mi / 02:34 11:00 pace

This was my first time back on CCT since all the snow and some time before that. It felt flat in comparison to the routes we have done. The way out is actually a bit down hill. I went too fast because of this but slowed down on the way back. Put my ave... read more

  9. Congratulations to all who ran the Greenway Trail 50K and Marathon today. It was a beautiful day! Everyone I saw at the finish looked happy and in good shape. I don't think I could do the trail thing especially with the mud and snow.

  10. I realized I missed my Feb 26 DM anniversary. I ran 1495 miles in the last year if I remembered to log every run I did. Not too shabby. I thank everyone for the advice and support I have received. Thanks to friend Corey who shared this site with me.
