Well, I suppose I should get back to using this site, if I'm to be at all prepared for Grandma's Marathon in a couple of months!

Thanks, and hello, all. Ryan: just a break from social networking, but in the case of Daily Mile, I think not-using the site is actually detrimental to my real-world motivation, so I'm back.

Right? Only run them in order to prepare for a marathon, otherwise I think 10 miles is enough. Good job.

Well, you did run 15 miles yesterday. Maybe you weren't fully recovered today. You have to eat like it's your last meal after a long run! It's actually the long and slow runs that drain your glycogen supply. Nice try regardless!

Yeah, totally polite, friendly crowd. I was stationed in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia when I was in the Navy, so I've been to D.C. many times. There's nothing to compare to how approachable everyone was, smiling, "You think this is fun, too? Nice to meet you!" I brought my 11 year old nephew with, and he couldn't see over most people's heads. A 70 to 80 year old couple in front of us had brought lawn chairs, and they merrily took turns allowing him to stand on their chairs. Good times.

Haha. Yeah, it wasn't fun. Rather than speed me up, I slowed down to make sure I wouldn't have a heart attack, or something. Weird feeling. Of course, it did make picking up my feet feel effortless. I have some Gu, and I used that to pre-game. Didn't weird me out nearly as much (or, actually, at all). You're right, though. I have to fight a slight gag reflex to swallow the stuff.
