    good 3.75 mi 00:09:00 25.0mph pace

First bit of serious exercise I have done since starting Uni last September and having a baby in October. Glad to get back into it and looking forward to racking up the miles again. I have given up... read more

  2. I have been really struggling to get motivated this week due to the heat and the World kickball tournament in South Africa that's on at the moment.

Too damn hot! It is only mid 70s here but this is Britain, we don't get temps like that!

Thanks for reminding us why we push ourselves on our walks/runs/rides/swims/workouts... to get that great feeling afterwards.

  5. RUN
    good 3.48 mi 00:38 10:55 pace

Been busy all week studying so this is the first I have been able to get out. A few steep hills in this run and one big long slow hill back to the house. I might run it the other way round next time.

  6. RUN
good Flat run 3 mi 00:31 10:20 pace

Bit of a boring run today I just did laps of a football pitch but with it being on flat it reflected in my time. Weather is a lot cooler than last week but I still find breathing more difficult tha... read more

I think breathing comes with practice. Sounds odd, I know.. but when I first started running I found myself breathing frantically - which- of course, made me more out of breath and exhausted. I think I take a breath every 3rd stride and I breathe with both my mouth and my nose (tip from one of my marathon coaches). I'm sure some of the more experienced runners here will give you some good tips!

good Shopping trip. 3 mi 00:40 13:20 pace

Decided to get some stuff from the shops and take the long route round. Second half was with a backpack full of shopping. Wasn't planning on running today but my legs felt fine from yesterday and f... read more

  8. RUN
blah First Run 2.85 mi 00:39 13:41 pace

First run for several years. I think I may have gone too fast and too far for someone of my fitness. Trying a flatter and more even surfaced route on Friday.

Always hard to know best distance and pace to start with when you've been away from running a while. You'll find your groove.

I dont think it was the distance but more the terrain. I picked a trail in a country park that I walk often but really isn't so hot for running round.
