Tom F. was nice enough to come out to my 'hood and get an early Saturday morning run in. It was a thoroughly enjoyable one, kept a conversational pace, and finished feeling good

Lunch time dreadmill 3 mi 00:25 08:20 pace
Had to follow up the 4 miles with something to see where the legs were at.... incline @ 2.0 and sat at 8:30/mile for the first 2 then 8:00/mile for mile 3.
Encouraging.

Since I've been on dailymile.... I'm a married man, I'm about 1/2 way through grad school, a new baseball season has begun, and I'm living in a new house. So not to make excuses... read more

RUN
good 4.21 mi 00:38 08:58 pace
Windy but warm. Legs weren't as sore as I expected them to be, but the relativity of my pace and effort weren't where I would like it to be. Good run, though.

Way to get back into it! Don't over do it- take tomorrow off and keep the miles low this week! I'm thinking about a rebound movement myself- tell you about it later.

Got a chance to meet up with one of my running buddies from high school - he went on to run the mile at TCU (and was referring to his mile PR of 4:14 as not impressive...). It was a little quick af... read more

The good news is I can do 1 of the 4 Capt'n Karl's races. The bad news is I can only do 1 of the 4 Capt'n Karl's races.

Always two sides to the coin! Hey, love your profile pic. Is that professionally done? If so, who did it for you?

Ironically, it was at the Capt'n Karl's race. I was doing the 30K.
I know it looks like it was staged, but that was actually in mid stride just doing my thing on the trail. It was the official race photographer.

This morning was refreshing. I ran exactly the run I wanted to without even really using my watch. Wanted to warm up, get a good solid effort in for 2 miles, then cool down: 8:14 / 7:13 / 7:14 / 8:08.
