Did a quick run before I head out for my weekend trip. It was 61°F, windy, & slightly overcast. Here was today's workout/intervals: 5 minute warm-up walk + [15 minute run + 1 minute walk] x 4 + 8 minute cool-down walk.

I dared to run on Friday the 13th, and boy, did I pay for it. ;) This run was not one of my better ones. I felt stiff for the first 30 minutes of the workout (WTH!?!!), and the legs just weren't cooperating. After today's run, I'm beginning to think that there must be something to this superstition. Thankfully, no black cats crossed my path nor I did walk under any ladders. LOL.

Then, with only 20 minutes of my run left to go, I began to feel light-headed & dizzy, and began to slow down considerably. (Nourishment & hydration weren't the problem. In fact, I'd had a bit too much water to drink beforehand, and felt like I had to make a pitstop every 5 minutes for the first half of the run. ;) So overall, that probably didn't help much either.)

I don't typically stop very often during my runs, but today was a rare exception. I just didn't feel all that well on the run, so there's no sense pushing on during bouts of extreme dizziness. That should be a warning sign to stop. ;) So, earlier in the run, I stopped off twice (!) to get some relief from the aforementioned situation (thankfully, I hadn't gone out too far, & so, wasn't that far off from our place to make a pitstop or two!), and then also stopped a few times to stretch & recover from the dizziness. Then I plodded along to a rather unimpressive finish. Oh well, these outcomes happen on occasion. It's no big deal.

OK, I've got to be on my way now before the traffic gets too heavy. Have a great weekend, everybody!
