After eating breakfast & walking the dog, I decided to go out for a run. After yesterday's two runs, I wasn't trying to break any records, & was just focused on getting in a nice recovery run which would allow me to make up some of the missing mileage that should've been done earlier in the week. :)

The first five miles were done at a decent clip, but the last two were a bit slower. Seems that yesterday's workouts were catching up to me, but no matter, sometimes it's important to push the body & mind beyond established limits to see where they can go. And plus, that sort of training will come in handy when it's time to run the marathon. :)

This week I ended up cramming my mileage into two days due to my insane work schedule, which is not something I like to do (nor generally recommend doing!). Of course, in the end, it doesn't matter what my schedule was like this week -- I still need to find a way to get the mileage in no matter what. The marathon training must be done in a consistent & timely manner. That's the only smart way to train as far as I'm concerned.

As I'm marathon-training for a late-November marathon, & am a bit "behind the eight ball" in my training, I knew that I'd needed to do at least 7 miles to make 20 mpw, which is still low for where I need to be right now, in terms of my weekly mileage. The previous week I did more mileage, & I know I'll get back on track.

Nonetheless, it felt good to complete the 7 miles, because now I can hold my head up a little higher knowing that I've kept my promise to myself. Even if the weekly mileage isn't where it should be, I'm continuing to train, and am determined to do better next week, in terms of consistency.
