Did a cool-down walk after my run. Felt good to have a nice long walk after the run. The last 1.5 miles are all uphill, so the walk was even more welcome. :)
Have been trying to switch up my routes some, so decided that I could do a long warm-up walk & then start running at a different location. Of course, this also means having to walk back the way I came. :) The good news is that doing things this way ensures a nice long cool down walk. Ran out of water on the last 1/2 mile, so walked a bit faster to get home, where a nice tall, cold bottle of water was waiting for me in the fridge. :) The next time I do this type of workout (i.e., long warm-up walk + run + return walk), I'll either have to bring the larger hydration unit, or run on a path with water fountains. :)

Way to go!

People laugh at me but I always walk a half mile before and after my runs of any length. I think that your body needs that time. I just don't think it's a good idea to just stop cold.

Warm-up & cool-down walks are a great way to prevent injuries. And there's nothing silly about that, eh?! :)
There are several scenarios in which warm-up/cool-down walks can be highly useful: (1) a person's legs/bod are stiff after a previous days' workout, (2) in winter weather, (3) during a reacclimation to running (i.e., C25K program, etc.) (4) when increasing mileage.
