Well, today wasn't a very good outing. I've been battling a little calf tightness (Soleus or Peroneus Longus) over the last couple of weeks. I might have pushed it a little hard today while shotting for 3-4 800m repeats at race pace. Track was too snowy, so I stayed on sidewalks and roads. I had an ok 1st with 2:30 (headwind), a great 2nd with 2:21, a rough 3rd (icy road) 2:32, and then my calf decided it had enough during rep 4 after 300 meters in 49 seconds. From there, I jogged and mostly walked back to the gym. Ice and Advil anyone?

Ugh. Sorry to hear it Chad. Maybe take a little time off?

I think I stopped before it was damaged, so I hope to ice it, take a day off, do some cross training after that, etc. to get through it. I've been training for a race on Feb 11th and I'd hate to miss it.

Thanks BJ. I've taken a couple of days off now, but I'll probably cross train a bit until it feels 80% or better.
