Team Bitches Be Crazy, Van 2 is on the scene.
A literal last minute course change (and an extra 3.7 miles) resulted in a last minute running order swap. It was decided it would be best if the van's baby-ultrarunner took the bullet on the now 11.3 mile leg. A lot more country road than I usually prefer for a long run, but the gentle rollers at least kept it interesting. Clear skies led to warm temps such that I ditched the shirt (which was only a tank to begin with), after only about a mile. Overheating was not a problem, but I did feel it limit my speed a bit. Did a little persistence hunting to put the first 6 up on the board for our van. I'll also confess that I put on a little more steam a mile before the exchange just so that a girl who had pulled up to within 20 feet of me didn't pass me. Yeah, I was that asshole. Good strong run to start Van 2's race.
