get back into the marathon shape I was in for my last one in October of 2009, and go sub-4 hours...also break half PR of 2:03 that I ran in Feb 2009.

Christon H. question about vffs: ...

Track and share your training!

Dailymile makes it easy to keep track of your workouts. Map your routes and share with a community of active people.

So my co-worker asked me about the VFFs and if anyone I know has them/likes them. So to all of you who have them...would you mind terribly giving me some input to share with her?

What kind of base did you have when you started running with them?
What kind of distances do you run with them?
Do you use them only on the road or do you ever go on trails?
Is there any advice you would give someone considering them?
What's the best thing about them?
What's the worst thing about them?

Thanks so much!

I own and LOVE them. forget your base. start by wearing them around for a few hours a day just for walking. Build up some foot strength. I don't count them toward by usual running schedule. put them on and run around the block - and slowly build from there. Definitely start slow - most vff injuries come from too much too fast.

Best thing - the minute you start walking in them you can feel yourself walking taller with better posture. Even when I throw on my regular running shoes, my gait is better.
