  1. RUN
alright Las Vegas Neighborhood 5 mi

Turned off my Garmin timer at a bathroom break and forgot to turn it back on, so all my stats were off. I guess that's alright, as this run was cut a little short. I just felt heavy, hot, an... read more

  2. RUN
    good Vegas Neighborhood 8 mi

Nice cool, windy, hilly run again. The cooler weather was a friend dearly missed at about 40 degrees. Right calf feels touchy (maybe a light pull); to be expected with the aggressive ramp-up. I ... read more

  3. A healthy guy went into Red Rock Canyon a few weeks back for some exercise. Sadly, he never came home. Search groups looked for him, but until a day or two ago, what happened to him was a mystery... read more

Yes. Its defintely sad. But, also surprising how close so many people were to the guy, but never knew.

  4. RUN
    good Neighborhood 7.5 mi

Wind was vicious, hills were brutal. Wore sun block which is new, and probably something I'll do more often, as it kept the sun at bay. Pace is improving, but still nothing to advertise.

Sounds like a very tough run Nolan, don't be too hard on yourself, wind and hills typically take a large toll out of us!

  5. RUN
Red Rock Canyon 4 mi 00:45 11:15 pace

My ole buddy from Kansas City (Jonathan Mast) was in town and he took advantage of visiting Red Rock with me. We wanted to run all the way to the top of Turtle Head Trail, but ran out of day light... read more

It was sunny and about 60 degrees with a light wind during my run today. I didn't drink nearly as much as my last run and got a heavier sweat on. I'm thinking it's because I ran in ... read more

First run, in a long, long, long time. After moving to Vegas, I've tried several times to get out and get my run on; but, for whatever reason, haven't really settled into a pattern that ... read more

Good work! I'm sure adapting to a new city is hard. What's your plan for the summer - can't imagine running in that heat. Houston is bad enough.

Thanks Crystal. I keep saying I'm getting back on it, but really haven't done so. But now I think its going to stick. Living in the desert has been tough to get use to.

  8. RUN
    tired Treadmill 5 mi

This run reminded me of how chubby and out of shape I've gotten. Which is serving as motivation . . . I think.

  9. RUN
    good 5 mi 01:00 12:00 pace

Spent about 20 minutes with a walking warm up, then kicked it in for a steady trot. Figure the first 20 minutes brought the average pace down some, but that's okay. This was more about just ... read more

  10. RUN
    Gym 3 mi

Easy pace. With temps of 111 in the shade, and up to 130 on pavement in the sun, I've been keeping this in the gym. Three days in a row of record heat in Vegas.

In reference to that weather, I think missing is an understatement! I'd call it pining and moping like a heart broken school boy.

Just easing my body back into it slowly. Got my heart rate at a steady 145 and just held it. Finished the work out by running the last couple of miles.

Trying to get this desert thing figured out. Realizing I need to get out before the sun rises to do anything at all without dying. :-) It's been a while, but I'm coming back.

  15. RUN
    alright Treadmill 6.5 mi 00:56 08:36 pace

Hadn't ran in about a week and half. With a half marathon on Saturday, I felt like I had to get something in or I would suffer worse. :-)

  16. RUN
    good Trolley Trail 10 mi

Great run with my friend Sarah. Half marathon is just around the corner.

  17. Just signed up for Rock the Parkway!

  18. RUN

No idea how fast this was. Really just a recovery run. Pretty much sucked because of the heat, but I got to run with a friend so its all good.
