Too windy for me to do a long run outside, so I'll save that for tomorrow if it's warmer but wanted to do a medium-long progressive. Walked 0.05 mi per running mile, kept me from wearing out at the end, I think. Split times include walking intervals.
Mile 1-10:30
Mile 2-9:55
Mile 3-9:47
Mile 4-9:42

Felt really good from about mile 3.5 on. That's what I miss in my mid-week shorter workouts, that wonderful feeling of peace and calm that those longer runs give me. Happy weekend, all!

Really nice progressive run and splits, Cristy! And I like how you phrased that, about the longer runs giving a feeling of peace and calm -- I agree. Happy weekend to you too!

I like your workout. I usually speed up and slow down whenever I feel the need, but like the idea of doing it this way once in a while. keeps your body guessing! Do you maintain one speed the entire mile?

Very nice run, Cristy! And I hear you on liking the bliss of the longer runs. Often the first mile or two are the hardest -- and often that's all we get to experience during the week. That feeling is what keeps us running. :)

Nice run and observation - I hadn't really thought about what makes the long runs so satisfying - it is a kind of bliss after a while. Thanks for enlightening me!

This sounds like a great run! That's my favorite part of the longer runs, too -- when you hit your stride and everything clicks into place.
